Assistant Research Technician

Students

(Maurano, Boeke labs)

Undergraduate or Masters students majoring in technical fields should contact us regarding internship possibilities during the school year or the summer. We accept NYUMC graduate students through the Vilcek Institute of Graduate Biomedical Sciences. Related Vilcek programs include: Systems & Computational Biomedicine, Stem Cell Biology and Developmental Genetics. Projects are available in Boeke, Maurano, and collaborator labs.

Postdoctoral Fellow

(Maurano lab)

The Maurano lab is looking for talented Fellows to join our group. Candidates with both experimental and computational experience are welcome. To apply, please contact Matthew Maurano at: maurano@nyu.edu.

Scientific Programmer

(Maurano lab)

The Maurano lab is looking for a candidate to scale up our existing sequencing data and analysis pipelines as well as develop new ones. Applicants should have a degree in CS or a quantitative field and 5+ years of experience with the UNIX environment and languages such as Python, R, C, or Java. Coursework in data structures, algorithms, machine learning, and statistics and familiarity with Illumina sequencing data analysis are highly desirable. While a background in biology is a plus, we welcome those with the interest and motivation to learn a new field. To apply, please contact Matthew Maurano at: maurano@nyu.edu.

SyRGe Fellow

We have funds to host a SyRGe Fellow each summer. SyRGe Fellows will spend the summer in our facility working with the assembly or delivery/readout teams and perhaps seeding a SyRGe collaborative project with their home institution. Contact us if you’re interested.

Mouse Genetics and Engineering Expert

(Boeke lab)

The Boeke lab seeks a postdoc fellow or staff scientist with expertise in Mouse Genetics and mESC engineering. We seek someone who knows mouse genetics, i.e. husbandry, design of crosses, details of mouse genotypes, as well as (ideally) has experience with mESCs and QC of mESC lines. Experience with blastocyst injections or tetraploid complementation and/or immunogenetics a bonus but not required. This individual would become a key member of the team and collaborate with other team members on our “big DNA” projects. The individual we seek has a CV documenting work in this area, and a proven ability to work with a high degree of independence, is able to communicate fluently in English, and is a proven self-starter with a collaborative nature. Must be willing to relocate to NYC-Position available now. If interested, email CV with “Mouse Geneticist” in the subject line, include 3 references with contact info to meghan.okeefe@nyulangone.org
